Redlight Camera Sherwood (Help reducing fine)

Here's the gist of it, in my mind. In order for a traffic citation to be issued, a police officer must see you commit the offense. I cant call the police and say someone just ran a stop sign, give them a license plate number, and expect a ticket to be written. If given a ticket, and a person pleads not guilty, it falls to that officer to prove that, you, did indeed break a law. I have never seen anything, other than license plate pictures, with enough quality to determine even the gender of the driver.

Just saying, if I ever had one of those over sensitive, twitchy machines, take my picture, I would plead not guilty.

they take a full length hi def video of you breaking the law.they also snap a flick of your plate.......at least where i got my ticket

Received call back from Municipal court. Nice lady, reduced the fine to $155 + $50 for online traffic school. No points on record and can pay over internet. Not bad....

Haven't read through all the responses yet, so if I repeat one, sorry.

I have my truck registered in my wife's name and her car in mine. If I were to get nabbed the ticket would go to her and she just signs the affidavit at the bottom that it wasn't her driving. Case dismissed.

Not sure how many times that'll work though.

Now, I just use Trapster on the iPhone. Alerts me whenever I approach a red light cam. Also, I tend to drive with a left-handed road soda, so, extra vigilant.

PS- this is the Internet. Everything I just typed should be considered bullsh1t to those who might choose to hold me accountable for everything I just typed.

I might have fought it. I've done it when an officer cited me. The court was going to knock off a real small amount for pleading and offered no diversion. Officer Speedtrap missed the court date.

If a small amount of people fought this crap, they'd take down those cameras because the revenue would dry up.

I went down to AZ when I had a valid temporary card in my tinted rear window. I took off the plates and went by some some speed cameras. I'm sure they still have some pictures of me.

I had an indecent in S.O. where A flagger let a group of cars turn left and forced me straight. I went around the block, only to have another flagger stop me in front of the driveway that I needed. The construction was 50 yards further up the street, in the intersection. I let the flagger know that I needed to go where he was standing and he refused. They had been giving us issues, because we owned the property on both corners and were a high traffic business. I went ahead and drove around the flagger into the driveway, parked and was then aggressively approached on private property and told I had best not leave as the police had been called. I informed him that he was on private property and if he did not remove himself, I would remove him.

The police came, and a young Medford officer went out of his mind, threatening both my father and I with arrest. He was asked to leave the private property as well, but he stated that he now owned the property and would stay. I stepped back with his supervisor at this point who informed me, that because they saw me do nothing wrong they could not cite me for anything. He horsed his hot headed young friend back into line and they left. They also tole the construction guys to leave us alone.

I guess what I'm getting at is that the Police cant write you a ticket unless they witness a violation. Had no Idea about the HD cameras and video though.

Ok, I see a whole bunch of folks here who intuitively know what the writing on the wall is about violation tickets and traffic courts. They know it's BS. They know it's a system of extortion under color of law, to generate revenue. My question is, is if someone cited the laws and public records that prove that traffic court is being used for purposes of racketeering, official misconduct, simulation of legal process, fraud, etc.... how many people would be willing to use the information and go to the Supreme Court if necessary to put a stop to it once and for all? You know, in the name of defending our right to travel in the same we come together to rally around our right to keep and bear arms. Or have they (those who do this to us) fine tuned their system of economic rape so well that they know exactly how much blood they can suck out of us, while not offending us so much that we do something about it?

A monetarily and morally bankrupt government will devise even more ways to extract funds from the sheeple populace. Red light camera are just one. The 1% that dictate to the gov want they want already have more wealth than the lowest 40% combined, but that is not enough for them.

You need to understand that we have the worst balance sheet on the planet, bar none. African nations that have people walking around with baskets on their head have a better balance sheet than we do.

The Feds get around it with a money printing press via the Fed, printing money out of thin air and eventually destroying the dollar.

Localities don't have that; they need to create revenue in other ways.

As for the above three things you said, I cannot see that you are accomplishing anything except creating a false red herring that disrupts people's ability to perceive a way out of the oppression they are clearly complaining about regarding traffic court extortion. The effect of your words in response to mine is basically the same as person "A" saying:

"Hey everyone, I think I have a solution to our problem."

and then person "B" comes along and says:

"But you need to understand, we have a problem"

The thing that I "do understand" is that I and we already know we have a problem, so restating it in other terms without offering a solution for your version of it gets us no further down the track. Most people don't have the knowledge or will to take on the Goliath of the fed and other high finance crime, but they might have the will to cut off Goliath's toes and fingers in order to destabilize and weaken him in bite sized steps at the local, then regional, then national level,.... if they know how. Many people can't relate to the fed, but they can relate to the obvious sham of traffic courts in their own towns and cities.

The laws and public records I referred to above provide smoking gun evidence of the motive, intent and opportunity to defraud the public in and through traffic courts. It's just a matter of people who love their rights and country making a decision to come together around a solution, spread the word, build inertia, momentum and confidence through numbers and use the power of their numbers to force the issue en mass down in Salem, maybe like last Saturday for starters.

Our "right" to use our vehicles on the highways is one that has already been duped out of us in the same fashion that we are now being duped out of our gun rights. The nice thing about traffic court, is that it isn't a right vs. left issue. It attacks everyone and because of that, it's a great way to close the right vs. left division in our society by helping the left to see that statism doesn't only infringe the rights of conservatives. Exposure of the traffic court fraud can be used to wake up the left and get them to wonder..."hey, maybe this cocoon of socialistic 'security' is just the name brand packaging for indoctrinated subjugation." And it can be used to get us all to realize just how deeply we have been getting poked for years.

In any event, if people aren't interested in attacking the underlying false pretenses that corruption needs in order to exist, then we will always be doomed to attack it on its own terms and turf. If that's how everyone wants to keep playing the game, then I agree with the inference of your fatalistic words...it's time to stop complaining and get on with burning our flag and Constitutions and be real about the reality we're CHOOSING to settle for on behalf of our kids.
