I might be a classic Liberal, might be a Progressive, but really, I don't think I fit in any one box, which makes me agile enough to flex with things as they come! I'm usually pretty agreeable across the board, but hard core against certain things!
A classic Liberal is today sometimes called a Libertarian (before the far right started calling themselves libertarians - usually incorrectly without understanding what it means).

I'm almost exactly the same. Was raised in a dominantly democratic family, strong Union, and strong Orthodox beliefs! I didn't know any thing else until my mid 20s.
As such, I tend to embrace both classic party ideals, but with strong reservations toward both ideas. I support advancement, progress, and capitalism, I do not support isolationism, hard core consirvitisism, and generally stick in the mud old school block head stonewalling! Same background. My Dad would not be a Democrat today if he were still alive. He was a JFK Democrat and wouldn't swallow their crap today.

Progressive is to Socialism and Communism like smack is to horse and heroin. Just the same thing rebranded for easier marketing. It's simply squeezing the air out of you patiently with every breath like a boa constrictor.

I'm not sure I expected this response. I can't reply to everyone but I agree with a lot of what's said here by everyone. I tried to be as respectful as possible and have appreciated everyone doing the same, at least IMO.

Really wish I could support the site more but priorities are always elsewhere, someday I'll get in the raffle lol.

@Carbon summed it up nicely at the end with a hobbits words.
I don't personally partake much of the social aspects of the internet age, other than here and a bbq forum. But I will say as a brown fellow with my oldest being born intersex, ie (xy genetics, but the y never activated in utero, so developed female). I should be one of the first I might think to be offended by these claims made by a random member here. But I have never felt that this forum or the real world cares a whole lot about such aspects. I find that we as individuals for the most part if we are good hearted/natured are willing to look past differences and share a moment with one another shooting/hunting/fishing/bbq'ing etc. The ability to agree to disagree and move forward has been lost on some, its ok to be/think diffetently from each other, we are all products of very different life experiences and paths. And I hope we always have the freedom to think and be different from one another. And honestly I bet most dont really care about one persons review, or even what I have just stated.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Im gonna have some BBQ tonight I think.
Sounds good

wish more people would come back to that attitude, I was brought up in a less than tolerant era and area if honest. found out MLK was right. I give respect to all I meet, up to them to keep it!

Well that's good for me to hear / read... J.R.R. Tolkien is my favorite writer....love his works...I have all but one.
And truly detest the movies of the LOTR and Hobbit.

Well then for your entertainment here is the piece I submitted:

I like the quiet solitude of a predawn morning, watching the sunrise over a fog filled valley with a fresh cup of coffee, and the promises of a new day as yet undiscovered. Soon the song birds sing their welcome to the sun and it's the dawn of a new day, it's time, time to ride, ride with the sun on my shoulder or back, it makes no difference because its embrace is warming either way. It's time to ride to the end of the day enveloping all my senses in the wonderment that is motorcycling in the back country. And then time again to set up camp and enjoy the Neanderthal joy that is rediscovering fire. The fire flickers and wains with a pop and spark, the song dogs sing their lullaby to me. And I sleep the sleep of the righteous and just, knowing I've not done any bad wrong to anyone this day.

You must see more than I do because I have never seen a 'well done hot looking one'.
For your consideration.

1) "Lovecraft was a sicko...."
Now why would you say that? Those in the Starry Wisdom Movement look on him as a prophet inspired by Lord Cthulhu.
Oh shoot, I was thinking of Clive Barker. Oh well...

At age 69, I still don't know Cthulhu. Prob not going to either.

Needs more character development, IMHO.
Interesting you should say that. I wrote that somewhere in the middle of a 9 day ride about out in the Great Basin Desert. I was struck by the beauty that was in the solitude. I'd find a fuel and water stop once a day and was just another traveler in the dust. No one knew or cared who I was. I liked that, just me, God, a motorcycle and the world to explore.
