Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I recently acquired a pre-safety Marlin 1894c. It has feeding issues. I would like to take it to a local gunsmith adept with lever guns rather than mail it off somewhere. If you have a recommendation, please post it.
There are a couple of good You Tube video's showing how to dis-assemble your Marlin rifle and what to look for when cleaning it and lubricating.
Might save you some coin, and you get to learn all about the fit & function.
Just make sure you use hollow ground screw bits when working on it.
The best video's are by Jim Green "Down East Gunworks" in Maine.
He has a really good video showing a Marlin 1895 lever, which should be similar to yours.
