We have stayed there a few times, the rooms have all been re done and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in for a hotel! Just don't be alarmed with the nightly blasting, you get used to it!

Yea, the lobby/casino could use some major work, and the parking lot is a mess, but hey, it was cheap!
And the "world famous" Clown Motel just a ways down the road…. WTAF! 🤡

I recently drove through Tonopah coming back from Phoenix, and stopped at the Tonopah Station "Casino" to grab lunch…. Wudda DUMP! :s0076:
Yes it is a dump. But the area around it is pretty cool desert. I have a friend who has quite a number of acres in the round mountain area. Completely off the grid. A Batchelor's dream. To include a legal whore house not to many miles away.

I assume there's also a legal health clinic nearby where he can get a penicillin shot?

"Nearby" for healthcare is Vegas. But his insurance does pay for a night in a hotel before and/or after his medical appointments.
I will say Vegas does have a plethora of Doctors. To include one Plastic Surgeon who drives around in a nice Jag with the license plate of "CME4DD".

My oldest brother has lived in N Las Vegas for 40yrs. Nice cookie cutter housing (with pools), but it is expensive housing (SisIL is a Realtor).

Crime rate has gone up and up and up. Don't expect a lot of diff from Potland.

It's pretty much party central and outdoor living. Golf courses and casinos are great and have some great food. (I don't do shows, so don't even ask ;))

For shooting, the best range I know is the Clark County Shooting Complex in N Las Vegas. It features just about every kind of shooting that can be done. If you are used to Potland area, you won't mind the very monitored and controlled safety there. https://www.clarkcountynv.gov/government/departments/parks___recreation/shooting_complex/index.php Clark County started this range to try to minimize the impact of millions of people shooting in the open desert... tearing things up and leaving their trash behind.
