The cheapest reliable red dot I've come to rely on, is the Bushnell TRS25, often found on special sale for uner $70. A few years ago I tested a small handful of the $35 cheapies, none of which were adequate or reliable. Perhaps there are newer better versions now. In the $200+ range, I've come to rely on the Burris Fast Fire 2 and 3. There are many competitors in this market.
I'll agree with @41mag the Bushnell TRS25 is a very good red dot for the price.
Holosun, Sig, and many others have great quality red dot sights for roughly $100 as well. All of which are likely made in the same factory, so you are really just choosing the logo of your liking.
