Recommendations for a 4 x 16 or 6 x 20 lite weight Vanguard 308?

No real limitations on purchase price but I'd like to stay less than $500 or close to that. Obviously want a scope that will hold zero year after year. Thinking using the outfit for 200-300 yard target and hunting. Weight is an issue as I am 69. Thanks for the read and your suggestions.
