I've been looking a various auctions for an original Remington XP-100 in .221 Fireball. The starting bids are, frankly, all over the map.

Question — what is a reasonable price for:

  • An original Remington XP-100 in .221 Fireball.
  • In good working condition and cosmetically at least decent.
  • No extras or scope; just iron sights.
Any information would be great. Thanks!

Saw one at a small gun show in Saint Maries, Idaho today. I think it had a $595. tag on it, not sure, the main thing that caught my attention was it being chambered in .221 and being of the original configuration. It likely had a scope, don't recall for certain. Remember thinking it would likely balance better than the one I had years ago that was chambered in .223 that had a heavier and longer barrel. Good luck on finding the one you want.
