Seeing as there's a lot of the Tom & Jerry talk on that thread I thought I should throw this recipe out that my ex-in laws used to make around this time of year. I guarantee that this is superior to that nasty stuff they sell for a premium in those tiny tubs in the stores!

It makes quit a bit, but if you have a lot of gathering over the holidays you should be able to use it up. You can also freeze it.

Hot Buttered Rum Batter:
1lb Butter

1lb Brown Sugar

1lb white Sugar CUBES (Has to be cubes)

1 Quart Vanilla Ice Cream.

Melt first three ingredients over medium heat. This can take awhile, but it's important that the cubes are fully melted. Don't try to rush it 'cause you don't want it to scorch.

Add ice cream and stir until melted.

GOOD STUFF MAN! ;)
