decided to change my elk load to 180gr ttsx's so i hit the range the other day to try out a few test loads
just figured i would share for anyone that is wanting to load a 300wm with 180gr ttsx's

all of these were fired out of a savage 116 300wm
here is what i came up with::

case: OAL: primer: powder: charge: bullet: velocity:
* mixed 3.34 00 wlrm rl22 72 180gr ttsx 2917,2943
mixed 3.34 00 wlrm rl22 73 180gr ttsx 2949,3009,2956
* mixed 3.34 00 wlrm imr4831 70 180gr ttsx 2669,3016,3003
mixed 3.34 00 wlrm imr4831 71 180gr ttsx 2989,3003,2976

I'm curious about the grooves on these bullets, and if they reduce copper fouling as claimed. I fooled around with the original x-bullets, and eventually went back to a more conventional bullet because of the fouling. If this really works they may be worth another try. Nice shooting.

I've been shooting a lot of the new TSX bullets over the last few years, never had issues with fouling, but I'm not pushing them as fast as the 300WM, for that you might want to think about the hornady GMX bullets as they are made of guilding metal (95/5, 26000 commercial bronze) vs the pure copper barnes uses.
