When I was in High School in California, I caught a couple of tarantulas that were crawling around on a back road around Santa Margarita Lake. I only had them for a couple of months. I remember seeing quite a few in that area.

Yup.
I did this.
Not only is the shirt inside out, it is on backwards.
I got all the way to the office like this where a coworker enjoyed pointing it out.

I am a grown up, I swear.

When you find yourself in danger,
When you're threatened by a stranger,
When it looks like you might take a lickin' (bawk-bawk-bawk-bawk)

There is someone waiting who,
Will hurry up and rescue you,
Just BAAAAWK for...

Goodwill score from a while back.
I happened to be waiting for my son in the audio area and saw the guy set these out just as the boy got back to me.
I told him to go scoop them up right now.
I had no idea what they were, they simply peaked my interest.

Could be any kind of bookshelf speaker...

Kid gets back to the cart where I am and pulls the front panel.
That looks promising....

So I looked the brand up as well as the speaker itself and wholly crapsticks!
They turn out to be Monitor Audio brand and they are expensive.
Well to the original owner, as you can see here I got the pair of them for a mere $30 out the door.

I have to say, they make the front stage of the home theater way better than the speakers that came with it.

I try to find different things to give my wife for presents.
A couple years ago it was our 24th wedding anniversary and I got her a new stone.
Not any stone mind you, it was a piece of Trinitite and I bought this before Oppenheimer came to the theaters.
So it didn't have anything to do with the movie on my part, just a total coincidence there.

I opted for the fancy display box as well.

Here is the actual piece as shown in the box with the weight of the piece on it...

I found this to be quite interesting to read up about.
Atomic Rock Shop is where I picked this up and she does love this for the gift and it being a piece of history.

Yes it is radioactive, but it is nothing to worry about.
Just washed my hands after handling the piece and they warn you not to eat it or the dust that may come from it.

Just before I read your last paragraph, I was going to ask if you had increased the life insurance policy on your wife recently. Nevermind! :)
