So I have a colt 1911 dating to 1913. It's in okay shape, but the sights were removed in the 60s and it doesn't have have the orginal grips.

I know an enthusiast of the platform would appreciate it far more than I would so I'm hoping to get it passed along.

I'm wondering how I can asses the price for this old bird. I'll post a link of some photos

Prices for these are all over the place. If it was all original and in better condition without any missing parts, you could expect over $5,000 from a collector.
Once you start downgrading the condition with the missing sights, grips, and magazine and wear to the roll marks, the price should be around $1,200 to 1,500.
If the serial numbers fall into a range of the ones shipped to the US Marines, then no matter what the condition, it would jump back up into the rare collector category.
