THAT might be interesting see, bearing in mind that a lot of folks, me included, shoot a 500gr FN bullet in OUR .45-70 Govt firearms. Hell, when I had my Contender, I did, too, but it weren't half as much fun to shoot as to watch....
lol yea nothing like a 500 grain BOOM THWACK as it hits the plywood
 
Had a guy at the skeet range blow the top of the receiver off his Mossberg pump gun. He had been hand loading increasingly larger charges of Blue Dot and thought he could "read" the primer for pressure signs.
 
I've loaded long .38's

I can't say for the rest of the discussions...

I have loaded down rounds to get subsonic that isn't published, I've ran ammo 2.5gr over max load to reach a desired velocity from a round that was loaded so long it kissed the lands.

Always done with caution.
