Have any of you noticed these spot drill marks on the inside if your slides?

This is how I got it new.
Not sure how hoppes is gonna help.

Will have to change progression of the slot spacing and maybe width to remove or miss them.

I have more, I'm special (Don't say it)....This is a 40c old model. Maybe they have a blind guy on the assembly line and this is for him to identify the part.........:p

I saw something about this on the S&W forum a while back. Apparently those dots, which will be found in different configurations on different guns, is a way they use to identify the milling machine and/or the contractor that milled the slides. Pictures of the different configurations can be found on the internet. Either way, it's intentional on S&W's part. Someone also mentioned seeing something similar on Glocks, starting with Gen 4.
 
Just got off the ph with CS at S&W.....

And it's part if the MFG process.and has never caused an issue with the end product.

So it's straight from the mfg.
