Based on my research and considering the variety of resale prices on pvs14, it's a gamble. Depends on the quality and condition of components you can get. there seems to be a ~400-800 dollar markup entry level gen3 unit to its similar individual parts. My friend was telling me that certain manufacturers are not worth housing a quality gen3 tube and that I shouldn't put the units he has into the housings I showed him, but I haven't found any way to tell except by recommendation
I only plan on building something that would be considered entry level especially when theres guys buying $12000 pairs of glowing eyes that go by the same name

Sounds to me like there's fine tuning that they do when you get into the current and high end nvg where they're measuring the exact specs for sale.
