I purchased a lower receiver earlier this week from an online vendor. When I contacted Safe Fire Indoor Shooting to request a transfer after purchase, the facilitator told me they had stopped accepting transfers and led me to believe my application and background check would be delayed and the transfer would be unlikely to be approved before the senate votes on the bill and governor signs into law. Does this sound consistent with other applicants this week? Does anyone know for sure when the senate will vote? I know it's already passed senate committee but if I can realistically buy a lower receiver and get it transferred before the bill is signed into law, I want to do so. After speaking with the FFL facilitator at Safe Fire, I was led to believe it's not going to happen so I had PSA cancel the order and recall the item from the carrier.

If it is just a receiver, not a semi auto rifle, then most people get instant approvals and take it home ten minutes later. Buy a receiver from an FFL who has one in stock. Buy the rest of the parts separately.

They are concerned with the time it will take to receive the lower. It has to be in hand before they can initiate the BGC.

As @User 1234 says, purchase from their stock and walk out the door with it in hand minutes later.

SafeFire had several hundred delivered a few days ago, and they are selling like crazy. They have a ton of lower parts kits on hand as well.

So frustrating! No wonder she discouraged the transfer. I wish they had to,d me that before I cancelled the order. It was scheduled for delivery by tomorrow.

I picked up two Wilson Combat stripped lowers from my FFL yesterday, but he's a good guy.

A lot of retail FFL's are wussing out because they don't want to be caught between irate buyers and Jay Inslee "just in case." No, it's not the law yet but the Constitution is whatever they say it is nowadays.

It's beyond reprehensible. I am at a complete loss. It's surreal. What country am I living in again?

I am with you, it's insane.

On the upside, I have faith it will not last long and be stayed by the courts pretty quickly. But it is obscene, illegal, and shocking.

Tomorrow, I will go reload a few hundred more rounds to get my mind off it. I bought or built an extra AR for each of my neighbors the past 18 months. I am a strong believer in "defense in depth" so I consider that a good investment. ;)

I'll second that. If this deal just falls through though, I'm going to need your pos so zip can pay you a visit during the zombicrat apocalypse. ;)

You sound like a decent guy. Completely altering my prior impression of Force Recon Marines.

Last time I had a real encounter with one, it was actually about three and much alcohol was involved (does that sound out of character?). It was in a casino in Vegas about 20 years ago. Fortunately I had about 1/2 of the German national ski team "b" squad with me, all in Lederhosen in fact. It about came to blows but fortunately did not. Hilarious stuff.

Lessons learned: 1) I never want to fight force recon marines, especially when they are liquored up 2) I never want to fight the German national ski team when they are liquored up and in leather short pants.

PS _ I'll send you a pm about a dealer I know closer to you and maybe a route for you.

I didn't consider checking in with local FFL before ordering last week from online vendor. I figured if I'm going to run out of time….. the FFL would just ship it back and my purchase $$ would be returned from PSA online order.

I did understand it's a gamble and cutting it close to timing.
I'm glad to receive a call last night from FFL letting me know my lower has been delivered and to come in for 4473. If I get down there today I'm not concerned because it is pretty much instant release for stripped lowers.

I feel little less lucky for semiauto pistol with threaded barrel options I bought yesterday. It's all up to review from local PD. I've been screwed before (Sportsman's Warehouse 2018 Tacoma PD) by "store policy" at chain retail. They (in this case Coastal Farm supply Kent PD) will not release firearms without response from PD; after 30 days of no BGC response:
"you'll need to resubmit 4437 and wait" for the PD to get to your BGC ….if they ever. Despite state law releasing at 14 calendar days. Hopefully I get lucky in different jurisdiction.

If I wanted to pay $249 plus tax for a stripped lower, I would have purchased off the shelf.
