At least a lab you can usually find a puddle to make them happy. These you need some game or lots of birds to get them to settle down.....for a minute
My old girl is half and half,lab GSP.She was raised running rabbits at a park.Otherwise I would have had to find something else for her to get exercise on.Didn't like that chasing ball BS.Needed live game!
And all she got from the lab side was huge feet,not the coat.So swimming wasn't her thing.Water's kinda cold.

My stud likes swimming, they are really cool dogs. Unlike labradors, they actually want to please their master more than themselves. I have labs too. GSP personality is just really tender hearted.

I use to have a GSP...so much character and love and she could find quail like nobody's business.

Had many types of pointers. Lots of character. Had a gwp last. He could eat dirt to live. A stud. On a labradoodle and miniture long haired wiener dog now. Fun dogs. The doodle is lights out smart.
