One was from here, the other from another place. But my point is that people are losing their morality for the place of the $$. The friend from this site had a gun deal that way, both parties agreed to the deal, we went to meet the seller and he's a no show, so we call him and get the answer that someone offered him more money to sell it to them. Both parties should be not sleeping well. Just my thoughts.

Socialist ...One who practices socialism
See socialism
Socialism .... Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administrarion or the means of production and distribution of goods.

I see none of that here. No one is begging for the Big Gov to bust in and save the day! They are asking for a courtesy from other gun owner to buy only what you need so we can all enjoy shooting on the weekends! A simple courtesy.

As for whinning? Wasnt in the dictionary please explain??[/QUOTE]

LOL... NICE

I was at Walmart yesterday and a little old lady (no exaggeration) and I both got to the counter at the same time.
I said she could go first and asked her what she was getting. "That 550 box of .22 shells" she said. I said "oh' I guesss you got 'em because you beat me to it and I waited behind her to see if the clerk could check another local Walmart.

The old lady asked if he had anymore in back. He said "No" - this is all we have.

She left and I said "happy blasting". I was actually happy for her.

It was my turn. I asked the clerk if he could call another store of give me the number because I needed some bulk .22 at such a good price. He looked around and then placed another Federal 550 box on the counter. I said "That lady asked you if there was anymore and you lied to her. He's like yep I did. I'm tired of people buying too much ammo he said. I told him I needed another for my neighbor and he "gave" me another after muttering something.

I went and got the manager and asked him if he had a policy where the gun counter guy can ration ammo as he sees fit. As the manager is coming, I was waiting with a lady from customer service at the gun counter while Mr. Ration (clerk) is heaving ammo back onto the shelf from under his secret hiding spot. It was really funny when the manager started asking where all the inventory was and why it wasn't on the shelf.

I always thought it was first come first served. I don't resale, but I think it is so funny when people post these so called good deals for 14.99 - 19.99 for 9mm when I have loaded up on ammo for the past several years. A box of 45 or 9mm is worth 6.00 max to me.

Since when was shopping a "team" sport??

I'm a bit dumfounded by the accusations on here.

I tend to get worked up quick when I see what feels like more of our freedoms being taken away and we are watching them go with a smile.

Really? Which ones recently?

This is <communism/socialism/socialist/whatever>

You guys asserting this need an education.

Not moral sellers

Capitalism has nothing to do with morality. That's one reason for external regulation/oversight, and a big reason for the financial straights our country is in right now.

I don't know if you'd call it socialism or communism but I'd LOVE to see the government provide shooters with ammo, guns and ranges at or near cost! Even better if it we were taught shooting skills in public schools from an early age!! :)

Somehow I knew you were going to post on here. I was that clerk. I didn't tell you know we didn't, the other clerk did. It was a madhouse there with everyone getting fishing licenses, and when he said no you immediately turned around and left before I could tell you differently. He was new, and had no idea there was any down there! I could have been an *** and not even told you we had some more when you came back for the phone number, but no, I completed the sale. You never mentioned anything to me about buying some for a friend, you only mentioned that you were going ground squirrel hunting.

I may have whined a little about selling you the last two boxes, but I DID IT. I never said no. Like I said, I could have been an *** and not even told you about them when you came back.... but I did the right thing and you tried to get me FIRED for selling you those boxes! And you didn't believe me when I told you that was the last two. I was happy to hear you say you will never be back, I hope you never will. Most people end up coming back a couple days later.

I was actually the biggest voice AGAINST rationing the ammo at the store. I finally gave into the other associates. But thank you for ending that. All spots will be packed full from now on for the half hour they are in stock. We may be in the business to sell, but I don't feel we are in the business to support resellers. The rest of you, the next time you can't find any, thank this guy. There quite frequently are guys coming in and buying the ammo by the full case if they see it. They will be getting it before the majority of the public... those that just want to go off and do some plinking on the weekend and have a life instead of calling every day at all hours about the availability of ammo.

It's nothing personal. Also, I'm sure that old lady you lied to is reselling all your ammo. I didn't try to get you fired. There was no official policy on holding back ammo - no sign - nothing. My neighbor was really angry too, by the way, so you will be getting a deluge of people (10-20 more) asking for 22LR every time they are in the area. We are trying to stock up for a week of Desert dog/ground squirrel hunting in Oregon later this summer.

I drove 60 miles on my day off to stop by there and re-up because Shelton has too many people using ammo compared to Lacey.

What days do you not work so I won't have to deal with your homeade policies. Maybe you should work in the garden section - where it's less stressful and more relaxing.

And you didn't believe me when I told you that was the last two.

Because you already lied to people in front of me. No wonder no one can find anything with you rat-holing it all over the place.

but I don't feel we are in the business to support resellers.

I'm not a reseller and you don''t decide who Walmart is in the business to support. Even managers don't do that (which I hate to tell you - you are not)

I'd much rather to get no boxes or 6 than one at a time.

Like I said, If you work Monday - Friday let me know and I won't be in. I also was going to call the regional manager, but I didn't.

What days do you not work so I won't have to deal with your homeade policies.

It was not MY homemade policies, I was going by what my department manager told me. Like I said.. I was against rationing of ammo, but I gave into the others a couple days ago. There are many on this board that I have probably sold boxes and boxes to in the past without thinking twice. If your one bad transaction with me makes me the bad guy, so be it. After the assistant manager set the rules straight, I happily sold whatever ammo the customer was asking for to that customer.

There will be no more rationing of ammo until it comes down from the district manager. Yesterday, I "plugged" empty spots just so I wouldn't have to put any of the .40 and .45 that came in last night below the counter.

As far as my schedule... I can work any day of the week, any shift of the day. I could be working the closing shift one day and opening shift the next. Some weeks my days off are together, others they are split. I have no say in the schedule, I just work what shifts they tell me to. But you said you would never come back to this store again, so what does it matter my schedule?? And your calling me a liar...

No wonder no one can find anything with you rat-holing it all over the place.

I don't know if people in Lacey shoot as much as Shelton.... All I can say is that we sell it just as quick as Shelton. We already get 30+ peoples asking each and every day for the .22 bricks, which we get in 1 case every other week or so. It could be any day of the week and it could be two days in a row, there just is no consistency. The last time I worked when a box came in, it left before we could put it in the ammo case. One guy saw us cracking it open and bought the whole case. THAT is why no one can ever find anything....

If I could work in Garden Center, I probably would. Seeing the sun every now and then and getting some fresh air whenever you want to is a bonus of that job. But my back wouldn't be able to take the heavy lifting over there since I hurt it a couple years back.

I don't see limiting the sales to each customer as a bad thing, I look at it as good customer service. Yeah it sucks if your intent is to wipe the shelves clean for your own benifit, but when a business sends 12 customers out with a bag of ammo and a smile those 12 customers are probably going to coming back, on the other hand send 1 customer out with a smile and you have 11 customers that you may loose.

I agree on the limitations while stocks are low. I was in a local shop the other day that would only sell 100rnds .223 per customer. I was there getting some at that time and I was fine with it. Just as I was about to leave a guy tried to buy all of their stock(about 3000 rounds) at once and was denied the ability. He got really mad with the clerk and left. I guess he figured he wanted it all for himself or non at all. But sharing some of the little supplies we have is better than only a few of us getting it that do nothing but call and wait for shipments. I know a guy that took time off from work just to get there when the shipment came in. We should not have to do this

Who's to tell me how much ammo I need, or should be able to buy? I recently went into a store, the clerk was checking in the ammo, I bought both cases of 22's, 2 boxes of 223, and 2 boxes of 40. A guy came up as I was finishing paying for it and started calling me every name in the book for not leaving any ammo for anyone else! I left plenty of ammo, I just bought all of the 22's because 10 of us are leaving on a 9 day rat trip. Weve already postponed the trip twice because we didnt have enough ammo. We will still be severly short with what I just purchased and what we already have.
I have no desire to resell the ammo, but stores are in the business of selling their products, if I hit it just right and beat you to it, put a sock in it and take it like a man. If you only need one brick for a days worth of plinking, good for you, youll have more money in your account than I will, but you have absolutley no business telling me how many I NEED or accuse me of reselling.
As far as Im concerned, price gouging is only happening because somebody is idiotic enough to pay the high prices. If your willingly paying the high prices, then you are part of the problem, not the solution. **** Wal-Mart was selling remington 223 psp for nearly 18.00 a box of 20! It's supply and demand.

Glad we're back on track.

For the record this thread was started not to take your freedoms away. I don't even understand how he got there, actually. It wasn't whine about prices. It was started as a announcement to all the scalpers in the classifieds that we're onto them and they won't find any easy marks here. We're going to band together and keep each other informed. If you want to prey on us go somewhere else.

You hear supply and demand blah blah blah from some of these resellers defending their practices, but a good part of the shortage problems are from these guys buying up all the ammo and creating the situation from which they profit. IMO Oh the new 82nd Walmart had bare shelves, as of 5pm today.
