In addition to the points on the graphic below, plan carefully and use the enemy's buzzwords against them. Low-information voters have been trained by the media to respond blindly and emotionally to certain words. Use this in your favor. Such as:

"Gun control is RACIST"
"Banning handguns is SEXIST
"Confiscation is GENOCIDE"

The Left has meticulously weaponized these and many other buzzwords. Plan carefully and use them as an emotional prybar to (try to) open the door to closed minds.

BUT YOU MUST BE READY TO BACK UP THESE STATEMENTS, because the hard-core Leftists in your audience (and there will always be some) have been trained (!) to immediately shout down anyone daring to use THEIR trigger words. Practice your responses beforehand until you have them down pat, and can deliver them seamlessly.

Remember: "Reason cannot change what reason did not create." Most anti-gun people originally adopted their outlook from a long series of one-sided antigun emotion-fests on websites and television. A "true believer" simply rejects any fact that conflicts with their adopted "opinion". Use emotional triggers to your benefit.

Remember the words of Col. Jeff Cooper: "Gun Control is a war we may never finally win. But it is one which we can never stop fighting."

1) agree, well except that gun ownership isn't a civil right don't try to pull that one.
2) don't bring up statistics until they do and only to counter theirs. Statistics are a wash, but you get the last word. Best to avoid altogether.

4) mixed feelings about this one, the absolute #1 thing the media is biased against is guns. To the point of fake news. At some point we need to call this out.
5) disagree, If they are that emotional then your wasting your time. Walk away.
6) mostly agree, except there are plenty of actual confiscations that have happened or attempted. Like SB 719
7) agree, but good luck its so widespread and accepted as an actual term now even if it is "fake news" that most everyone even many gun owners cant see thru.

Most liberals don't know I'm pro gun unless I flat out tell them. A lot think I'm one of them. Mostly because of my age, being born in Corvallis and my overall views on gays and weenie choppers (transexuals).

Despite my humor and being a crude human being, I often get many liberals to back off on gun control by admitting it's hypocritical to demand our guns be left alone but want legislation regarding gays. I tell people all the time when we get to that point in the conversation: "it might surprise you I'm pro gun yet pro gay". I haven't really gotten a negative reaction. The thing I have noticed about liberals is they have a hard time letting others be. They think about all these bs stats and murder rates fed to them by out of context information. They have a hard time, ironically, with a live and let live attitude. It's hard to give them a peak at what's beyond their socialist ideals. Every now and then...a few of them see the light!

I work with a transexual. It's different. From California. Her views on guns were that only the military should have them. I gave her my talk about being pro gun and pro gay and what got her was I asked: "you don't think your entitled to defend yourself"? You could definitely see the wheels turning.
