Can't say I feel sorry for the guy. He knew he was committing a crime by selling to a non-resident.

That probably could be said for a number of crimes.

MMaybe I'm in a minority here, but if the details are true and it is established that he knew the deal was not legal, I would have given him more than a year. Jerks like that make it worse for the rest of us.

I sure as heck would not sell a firearm to someone who shares his last name with some crappy vodka.

Grassley reacts as DOJ blows off contempt; Issa

'There is a certain irony in all of this. Ladera is off to prison for selling one gun that resulted in a tragic homicide. To date, nobody has been held accountable for the hundreds of slayings in Mexico that have resulted from Fast and Furious gun walking, or the murder of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. In that case, the ATF encouraged gun dealers to sell firearms to people who went through background checks, even though the dealers had grave concerns about these transactions and even said so to ATF investigators.

Thursday, the House of Representatives held Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, and his Justice Department underlined the term contempt by blowing off that serious vote.

Why Ms. O’Rourke thinks individuals will be compelled to behave responsibly when the Justice Department and the ATF didn’t is mystifying.'

Come on Dave, FnF is all political. Why, my illustrious congresscritter says so via twitter:

    https://twitter.com/RepSchrader
"There was no proof of any impropriety by AG Eric Holder. While he has not been a proponent of gun rights, Amer ppl deserve a better process."

    ;)
