Yup! Back when my dad was a kid you could buy a lot of stuff off the shelf that's completely banned today. He mixed some chemicals and missed the ratio a bit. When the reaction started, he ran out his back door to the burn barrel, slipped on the wet grass and managed to get the beaker in the barrel as he fell across it. Blew a bunch of skin off his face and right arm.
 
I can go to any grocery store and find everything I need to lose most of my fingers and singe off my eyebrows.

LOL, YouTube should be outlawed.
I often stumble on stuff there that makes me think if it was there when I was a kid a lot of us would not have made it through growing up. Homemade explosives, fireworks, flame throwers, and such. Damn if we had access to that knowledge base when I was a teen? A lot of us would at best be missing some digits or have had the chance to burn the house down.
