DOA…. you big DF.

No, it's NOT SAD "a life was lost".

Reviewing the thread title, it was not a "potential" shooting. It was an active shooter. Only because of his abysmal marksmanship was no one injured or killed. And only because of an armed citizen was he stopped.

On the radio yesterday they said the hero lady "ran toward the shooter." It sounds like she knew that capability of her handgun, and closed the distance to get within an effective range. A decent society would be showering her with honors!

The bizarre part is the BBC portraying this in a positive way as well.

"Mr Hazelett said it is not yet clear how Butler obtained the weapon - which he was not legally allowed to carry as a convicted felon."

I find, living here in UK, that the BBC has a habit of supporting the actions of law-abiding citizens in any country in which they include in their reports. The brave lady was a legal carrier of the weapon she used to bring what may have ended up as another massacre to an instant halt.

The now-dead would-be massacre-ator was a felon, and if he had been obeying the law, would not have had a gun of any kind.

But of course, as WE know, and some people in both governments seem to have overlooked, criminals ignore the laws - that's why they are called criminals.
