The U.S. Postal Service Took Away the Doughboy's Rifle - Firearms News

Short version is the rifle was removed from the original design and replaced with a flag...

View attachment 572841

I think that it was stupid for them to get rid of the original stamp design.

Yeah, pc stupid!

I am pretty dang sick of all of the tip toeing around people who might be offended or AFRAID of looking at a rifle on a piece of paper, a stamp or ON some person's body. NO one is forcing a gun into the lookers hands and the rifle is not going to BLIND the people using the freaking stamp.

Gggrrrrr.

I think that we should ban HISTORY DENIERS and pc 'snowflakes' and/or only allow them to yell at a full moon off of their front porch or balcony or out on the ocean as long as they don't scare off the FISH and swimmers with their vocal chords!

Oh, I am so afraid - I saw a rifle on a stamp. Quick, give me some support animal to lean on. GIVE ME A BREAK! We have raised, not me since I did not have children, a nation of cry baby wimps!

Bury are history and freedom will be forgotten.

They do this on purpose. So many people are dumbed DOWN when it comes to history!

LOOK at people in other countries worldwide, not just in U.S. anti gun states, who should know better when it comes to losing their gun rights.

Look at people who think that bad things don't happen to good people who live in NICE places. We don't have that here until it HITS THEM like that CT doctor living in a nice/sweet/innocent place when his wife and daughter got murdered. The son of a gun DOCTOR went totally anti gun and hated to think of his wife and daughter having a gun, gasp, to DEFEND THEMSELVES! GUNS can save lives if used in a proper manner. Like duh - what a rocket scientist... not!

Guns helped us (USA) win some wars and helped other people in other countries too.

As I told some full of herself, extremely SMUG, European, anti gun woman from another country long ago... that if it wasn't for OUR HELP, OUR GUNS and ALL KINDS OF SUPERIOR MEN/WOMEN using superior fire power... she would be speaking another language or not even exist since her forefathers would be DEAD from getting killed by the enemy coming from all sides. Sea, skies and land!

Whatever era , there is no shame in being an Infantryman...
Riflemen , taking and holding ground are what wins wars.

The removal of the rifle from the hands of the rifleman on the stamp is insulting and a affront to those who have served as Infantrymen...after all it was the rifle , in the hands of those who have been trained in its use , that won the battles of The Meuse Argonne...Chateau Thierry...and many others...

Yup. You can shell it, and you can bomb it, but until the infantryman stands on it with his rifle in his hand, you haven't WON it.

I noticed that they even changed some stand alone American flag stamps over the years. I bought them, some Vietnam Veteran stamps, some pretty floral ones, some seashell ones and classic religious Christmas stamps.

I personally still like handwritten letters and thank you notes that my late parents always taught us to send when it came to gratitude and good manners.

I am always shocked when people don't realize that handwritten letters were what you got from your loved one, a husband, a wife, a friend who was serving his/her country overseas or in war time not too long ago. And that there was NO such thing as EMAIL or those dang Fake-book, Twitter = GAG-VOMIT, etc. 'social - anti social' websites.

Soon enough the flag will no longer be acceptable on a USPS stamp either, already regarded by shrill whiners as a sign of racist hatred. They will only be pacified when it is replaced with a Nike logo.

It is pretty pathetic when people can't stand to look at the American flag in the US of A!

Sometimes I think that I am living in a land called the Twilight Zone.

TZ music fades out now...

I for one feel much safer knowing an obscure USPS committee is on cusp of political correctness. I almost feel a little less guilty for being a heterosexual white male who gets his hands dirty at work and play, pays his taxes and union dues, goes to church and minds his own business.
