Possible Arson Fires in Klamath County.

Rumor has it that there have been close to a dozen fires down there since beginning of April.

This one is getting to be decent sized.

BLY, Ore. – Firefighters made great progress overnight on the Ponina Fire burning approximately 5 miles north of Beatty. The fire is estimated to be approximately 1,400 acres with 10 percent containment. The cause is under investigation. The fire was reported yesterday around 2:30 p.m.

I might send you a private message about fires happening around here, some across the state and the BIG one up in NW MT that I wrote about elsewhere. Ammunition, reloading supplies and tons more. HUGE investigation going on there.

Other details too. Like what happened last year with sporadic fires in and out of town and in VERY rural areas too.

Four new fires added to SCOFMP list today. All are near roads.

And so it begins! Noticed today a bunch of fire fighting aircraft took up station here in Salem, and have started taking over the south end of the airport again. Also, the National Guard has painted up most of its birds hot pink and have been doing bucket training the last few days!

They have been keeping most of the fires down south pretty small. But as things dry out further it will get rougher. Most of the fires in the SCOFMP jurisdiction have been near roads. About a dozen since start of Memorial Day weekend.
