I feel for you that find it necessary to live in the pig sty called Portland.

For you who live there by choice . . . You are getting just what you deserve.

I love that she is wanting to help out dad (would be proud if my daughter grew up and did the same) but the article is a little misleading in my opinion. Policies need to be consistent. Other vendors need to go through an application and approval process and she (her father) should too. If it were allowed, others would take advantage of this "loophole". Maybe a grocery store would be a better option. Seems to work well for the Girl Scouts.

Her point is right on. The lefts prioities have never been correct along with any of there policies. Yet this state keep electing the same assclons every election. The diffintion of insanity= Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

One of the vendors should have let her set up at their table

What's the story, here? Is everybody getting their panties in a bunch because the girl was told to go through the vendor process at an event? Welcome to the world of commerce.

I'm sure I'm missing something and I'm all ears for someone to set me strait.

    Edit:
Ya know what? Never mind. This article is just garbage reporting. Trying to make a story where none exists. If anyone wants to do this girl a favor, they should teach her how to set up a small business like a professional instead of bubbleguming about how unfair the process is.

Might have been a good time to execute the look-the-other-way maneuver. Not all rules need to be enforced by individual enforcers all the time- that's why we give people discretion. Private security guard, answers that question.

I didn't watch the video... just couldn't handle sitting through a gay *** motherfuccin Christmas commercial.

Oregon tells small businesses all the time they would rather have them be on the dole than grow the economy....we have to grow that entitlement generation to create more liberal voters somehow.

comander merkin ref 'no story here' or whatever your moniker is.....

Bull crap if all kids had this kind of drive and responsibility and didnt get hassled by gov this country would be far better off. There is a story here and a damned good one.
Kids should be able to work any time they need to. They learn work ethic and feel accomplishment when they earn their own money.
The damned socialist government needs to stay out of it. They even attack kids doing a simple koolaid stand.
Hell , I was setting pins and hauling hay on a dairy at 10. I loved making my own money.

Now the state will likely step in to try to collect taxes on her sales . . . Which will no doubt be used to further
    the demoncrats socialist programs.

I don't see what was wrong here. The state was just giving her gentle guidance to her favored future career as a moocher. If these capitalistic strong work ethic tendencies aren't stomped out she will be doomed to becoming a self sufficient one percenter.

I am sure commando merkin was a bit confused because in TN mistletoe is what you get walking out to the backwoods corn mash pot barefoot.

This is correct. Saturday Market is a private, non-profit business and is constantly dealing with this issue. They pay large amount of money yearly to rent space from the city, salaries, insurance and security.

This is not the same as cops shutting down a kids' sidewalk lemonade stand without a 'permit' and this little girl has no sympathy from me.

It sounds like she doesn't need your sympathy. She is getting a lot of support from around the state.

I think everyone supports what she wants to do. She just needs to do it the right way. You can't just go the mall and set up a table and start selling things without going through an application process or at least getting permission from mall management. The Saturday Market is no different.
