Gun humpers, eh?

That was the headline.

In their story while whining about firearms owners who oppose measure 114 they had another libelous comment:

"The suit is also presumably supported by other cowards who crawl through their lives in fear while turning a blind eye to mass shootings."

This is what passes for "journalism" in Portland.

Couldn't get passed the first few lines. Not every opinion is worth viewing. One sided thought with no connection to facts or logic. Leftist ramblings, in this case.

This appears to be part of the reason they never learn.

libelous comment:
"Libelous comment" implies an identifiable offense recognizable by and in a court of law for purposes of redress in the form of compensatory and or punitive damages. While protected by first amendment freedom of speech such commentary falls more under the auspices of irresponsible journalism rather than libelous comment. Such comment has to be more specifically aimed as even a difficult to assemble and organize class action suit would not pass initial review due to first amendment protected speech being just that, protected speech.

The best redress is to specifically attack the Mercury's finances. Remove their ability to reach a significant portion of the public and the message no longer matters as the vehicle for that message no longer exists. Make donors, supporters, operators, contributors, any and all financial backing feel the price in dollars, sense, reputation and very specific but factual personal attacks. Put these threats to democracy under a spotlight. Make these treasonous, yes treasonous voices burn in the light of full, factual disclosure.

Logic however dictates that in order to defend oneself from such an accusation you must first, in the eyes of the accuser admit to being a coward and then a remorseless pro violence zealot that cares nothing for the lives of others. As much as I, or anyone may want to engage the author based on the libelous nature of the accusation the result is predetermined by the accusation. It's a question of absolutes. As much as you may see it as a libelous accusation the quasi-middle ground reads it as " Support mass shootings or gun control". Simply answering loses the argument.

In conclusion there are two simultaneous paths to take.
Continuing education of the quasi-middle ground.
Relentless attacks on the house of cards that support the voice of treasonous attacks on second amendment rights.

I'm not one for legalese lingo but bottom is that the Portland mercury staff have reduced this to grade school name calling in addition to simply lacking any facts or reason. They've one-upped themselves.
I will distill the solution for effectively dealing with smarmy little soy-laden smart-mouthed scheits thusly….

Cowards eh? I'm available anytime to talk about my cowardice. In person.

don't even give such a rag click revenue, bad media use outrage to drive revenue. Use archive.org for such things:

they will keep trying and trying and trying, they have nothing to lose.
Exactly. Like I have said many times before gun control for libs/antis is purely conceptual - they have nothing to lose while WE stand to lose a lot.

They sit on their 'high horse' laughing at us, while we chase around like rats leaving a sinking ship.

The hilarity they are most likely deriving out if this probably borders on psychotic for some of them.
