Portland Gears Up To Disarm Right Before the Big One,

Today Portland announced that it is preparing centers for its citizens to gather in case the Big One Hits. Geologist ( depending which one you ask ) state we are do right now for a huge quake.

Portland is also gearing up to make firearms illegal in Portland next year. Some may think its simply to change laws on the books, no according to a family member who is connected with a member of the city counsel the goal is to ban all firearms in the city limits including CC.

So time to vote is now people Brown could sign this if it makes it thru and we would have west Chicago in the Northwest. (I am sure the NRA and OFF will get around to telling every one when its time. )

This how screwed up liberal politics are disarm people just in time to be victims in a disaster.

Well Done Portland, well done. ( sarcasm alert )

Sometime when I go wow people are so stupid, and then think well at least they aren't this stupid......and they prove me wrong. I was encouraged when in the same news cast I saw where Children For the 2nd Amendment walked out and in great numbers made my evening.

Yep, I saw that too. It's good to see our kids not being completely brainwashed.

i literally heard a woman on the news in portland (outside of that church that wants a ban on guns) say "banning assault weapons will make women safer"

how effing stupid.

Ignorant statement from an obvious snowflake air waster.

i think one of the best things reguarding a womans safety is arming themselves.

but thats another conversation.

back on topic :D

As SCOTUS said they would be in violation of the constitution if they passed such a law. District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), is a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held in a 5–4 decision that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home

I can see a divorce in my future-if the wife says "I want to live in downtown Portland", cuz homey ain't getting any closer to Portland than I am right now.....
Wonder if that would be Portland proper or the outlying areas such as NE Portland (the airport)

Worry about something that could happen. And if you cant do that explain to me the logistics of how this would happen? Door to door confiscation could take years. Volintary surrender would be lucky to hit 30% and the length of time any real warnning could happen would be days at best.

Have to change the state laws first to even have the ability to try to pass a law in Portland.

Exactly, and why my post was aimed at the idea of disarming people if a catastrophe was imminent is just stupid. But again we are talking Portland the same city who doesn't allow open carry because it make people feel sad. I just wonder does it hurt to feel that stupid ?

Oregon needs to be 2 states Oregon 503 and Oregon 541.

We need one unified American state that honors human rights.... dividing as a nation is not the answer.

Educating folks about gun safety, the 2nd amendment, and being good stewards/neighbors is what will change the attitude towards disarmament.

I know I feel better when my better half is packing. And she does.

As to the original topic, sweet, merciful, crap. We have been doing a lot of preps, reading, spending a decent amount of funds, and the rest to get ready for the "Big One", in the last few years. Disarming is most certainly not one of the preparations. On the contrary, focusing, modifying, and stockpiling supplies for the collection has been one of the many side projects of said work.

I'm glad we don't live anywhere near Portlandia. We have a number of family members up near there, including several of my siblings, so this is alarming. Does anyone have a link to the original news source?

Peppers prepare for what they fear, government prepares for what they fear. Sarcastically speaking why would government fear us after working so hard to steal our guns :D Government works to keep itself in power, of course guns scare the doodads out of them.:D
