Dang.... This cant be allowed but as a gun owner I believe that all gun owners should secure their weapon(s) when not on their person! Every time I see something on a stolen firearm the 1st thing that goes through my head is the gun owner screwed up. Safes are cheap! Guns are cheap! It's the ammo that's expensive. Secure your weapons!

While storing property in a safe makes economical sense

I not advocating violence towards LEO's in any way.....but these seems like a safety nightmare for the police. Politicians who come up with these brain-dead ideas should be the first guy in the front doors on every raid.
 
I'm sorry as part of my overall security program No one outside my immediate family and a few long term friends are allowed to see any of my firearms. So I can't imagine how coming into my house would be of benefit to the police. Or their puppet masters.

And if they did come into my house they could look around all they wanted and they still wouldn't have a clue how my firearms are stored.

My theory is that the east coast is now populated almost entirely by the offspring of the Tories, who lacked the will to be independent of the crown, and lacked the spine to continue their migration any farther west than where they stepped off the boat.

Hard to believe this is even on the table for discussion, it seems like the next logical erosion of the rights of the folks in Massachusetts as they surrender them to the Democrats and RINO's. Thank God we don't live in a liberal bastion where things like this could happen to us.
 
Who's to say what "secure" actually means.

-I've got a lock on my frontdoor. Someone is commiting a crime if they break in. But that's not good enough you say? I'm still the bad guy if the firearms are stolen?
-I've got them in a softsided case with a US Govt. approved TSA lock securing the zipper, inside my home with a locked door. Whats that you say? Someone could still easily remove them from my home? After they've already committed a crime by breaking in...
-So I'll put them in a cheap metal cabinet with a keyed lock on it, inside my home with a lock on the door. They can't move that easily. Oh, thats not good enough because someone can open it with a screwdriver??
-How about I put them in a cheap $99 Stack-on "safe"? What? Thats not good enough cause it can be opened with a simple preybar?
-What about a $500 costco special safe???.....

JUst how far am I/We expected to take this?
Again, just exactly WHO determines what "secure" is?

I've never seen someone get blamed because they left the keys to their car laying on the counter when someone breaks into their house, steals their car and commits a felony with it.

Massachusetts (Taxachusetts) has a long history of socialism. In the late 1600s, they were the first to make public education mandatory. Sure sure - kiddies go to school and learn.. but it takes the responsibility from the parents and gives it to the state. Depends on how much hair splitting one wants to do.
