I am already a huge CZ fan and I have many other cz's I have no issues with. I really appreciate everyones help. @Reno911 you were very helpful with defusing the situation. Thanks to all other's also that actually gave me guidance and advice instead of just making fun of me or putting me down.

The Remedy: I pulled out all moving parts and cleaned them. The previous owner must have put lots of ammo through it and said they put only 200 rounds down range. It had some sort of grease in the firearm instead of oil which just collected all of the gunk inside and held it there. Once cleaned it had 0 issues at the range and was very pleased with the results.

Common for people to liberally apply grease, even though that causes more problems than it solves.

Also common to CLR into the firing pin hole. Probably gummed it up fierce. Very glad to hear you got her running!

Yeah, lots of people get oil/grease in the striker channel on striker fired guns, turns out that's a no-no :(

Sometimes you gotta just clean, not oil/clean combo, depends how bad it's left to get.

Just a note for those people selling or trading firearms here. Your integrity is all you have going for you. One really negative post on your trading feedback can sabotage your future sales or trades. Nobody with any sense will take a chance on you once that happens.

Be honest about round count. If you don't know exactly how many you put through it, overestimate it and be honest that it's an estimate.

Fess up to any problems the weapon might have had. That includes trips back to the manufacturer and what they did to correct the problem. Be willing to drop the asking price a bit if necessary.

Thoroughly clean and lightly lubricate any weapon you're putting up for trade/sale. Assume you're selling to a smart person who will at least field strip the gun before they commit to buying it. I just sold my Walther PPS M2 yesterday and the buyer did just that. You don't want to be standing there at the FFL when the internals of your pistol look like it came out of the La Brea Tar Pits.

Finally, although you may not want to go this far, I always inform people who buy any of my firearms to call or text me if there's even the slightest problem with them. I'd rather take the gun back and refund their money before things get to the point where they post negative feedback on my profile. For people who I haven't sold to or traded with before, my feedback is the only thing they can see that tells them what kind of a person I am.

Also, when I'm on the receiving end and get a pistol that has problems, which luckily hasn't yet happened, I would at least give the seller the chance to make it right before posting anything negative about him/her. People are usually willing to do the right thing if you're honest with them. Not always, but more often than not.

My two cents, anyway.

Well since there is a P07 thread going I will chime in with yesterday's range report. Sold a Vaquero .357 and picked up an OD Green P07 on Monday then to the range yesterday. I have owned M&P's and a few Glocks so I was excited to try something different and really liked the feel of the gun. My first 30 rounds from 3-7 yards with UMC ammo were great which are pictured below and honestly shoot it better than my Glocks. Unfortunately during the 200 rounds I shot last night it had 5-6 failures to feed (wouldn't quite go into battery) and I was hit in the glasses, face and forehead repeatedly with spent brass. I have emailed CZ to see what they think. I love the gun and hope to work through the issues but can't accept it as is. Anyone have similar experiences?

I've got a very recently purchased P10c with low round counts. Weather has kept me from putting rounds on paper as of yet but it does seem to like the 6" falling plate rack at 50' well enough to be promising.

Nice targets.

Have had zero malfunctions like you describe, but did have to have the gritty trigger safety toggle fiddled with by the LGS. Improved but needs more. It throws brass very nicely way to the right & a bit to the rear, nothing in the face so far.

This my my own first CZ. It's decent enough especially for the price, yet not yet all that enchanting as I had been led to expect.

I like the ease of changing back straps but find the S version 'more right' than the M or L.

Since it is literally 2 days old I'm going to start with the manufacturer. Good to know of a CZ specialist though.
I've got a P10c, Shadow-2 and a custom P09, the latter of which is not much different than the P07 from what I can tell. Never had a missfire with any of them, but I do keep them lubed a bit on the wet side for break-in.

Dumb question, but did you lube your slide and trigger well enough? Seems from your post things went haywire later in the shoot?

Failure to go into battery isn't an issue with my own P07 and I'm personally surprised to hear issues. if you're getting hit in the face, and failure to go into battery, maybe low power ammo? What ammo are you running?

I agree with the previous poster re the possibility of low power ammo, especially if it's some of the more typical low cost range ammo. With a new CZ, it's possible that the recoil spring is stout enough that the rounds aren't cycling the slide fully to the rear. That would result in it possibly not going back fully into battery as well as causing it to spray brass in random directions since it's not pulling the brass back full force onto the ejector. If you can find some, run some Fiocchi ammo through it. Those are inexpensive but usually significantly hotter than Winchester White Box, Remington UMC, Blazer Brass, etc. If that fixes the problem then you'll know it's basically a break in issue. If so, a couple of hundred more rounds through it should get the recoil spring to lighten up enough that regular ammo will cycle reliably. Another thing you could do is store it with the slide locked back for a night or two and see if that helps. A lot of people will argue that leaving a spring compressed really isn't as effective as a series of compressions and decompressions, but it can't hurt. Good luck. Those are really amazing guns, especially when it comes to accuracy. If you ever want to switch to a great all metal CZ for carry, try to locate a CZ 75D PCR. They're not easy to find, but they're amazing pistols, in my mind one of the best hammer fired guns ever made. Good luck and let us know how it all turns out.

Well I certainly considered the possibility of cheap ammo causing the failures but didn't quite think it would cause the brass to the face. It was Remington UMC 115gr that I got on a trade, but I have 1000 Speer Lawman 124gr coming today so we'll see if there is a difference. I loved the way it shot so I really hope it's as simple as that. Might go to TCGC next week for the first time so I should know soon. And the expanded grouping is what I get when I start shooting fast ()which is every time I go), it always ends up high left but still super excited that my first 30 rounds went that well especially my first shot being dead on.
