Places to shoot 1 mile

Sorry to hijack the thread but i am also interested in shooting out to 1k yards but i live in portland. so would any place where you have 1+ miles of view be a good place to shoot in oregon or maybe even washington?

Douglas Ridge for sure and maybe Tri County

ill second that on the BLM.
with some basic attentiveness shooting a mile safely will be no problem over in the wheat country.
There is lots of BLM land over there.

Here in Eastern WA we have tons of ground. I usually just ask a farmer if he has a spot. The only thing I was asked is not to shoot tracers or incendiary... Once snow flies they will be game on though... And I just got a call from the ATF, my form 4 is approved< hmm, wonder the spread on a 6.5 inch 12 guage.....

If your lucky (like I was yesterday) you can get Douglas Ridge all to yourself. Nice weather, no wind, I only wish I had brought more ammo.

This is more for the NFA weapons thread, but I was referring to my tax stamp for my Keg 12 (Super Shorty) 870... I won't need a mile, more like 10 feet:gun15:
