Darn. Sounds like they have QC problem with their springs. Probably get them from India. If they are replacing with same quality springs it will keep happening probably. Maybe ask if they have any old springs from a different supplier. Such as for a prototype or test one or something. The HK runs without flaw until the spring is cooked thank gawd no baffle strike !
They actually told me they ran it with the same pistol (not mine) but a Hk usp tac and said they could not duplicate the issue. The funny thing is I have three Hk usp tactical 45s and it did the same on all of them. I know you're thinking user error but it isn't rocket science you thread it on and it works! I have other suppressors and have never had an issue like this. This is another thread where I'm learning and not able to contribute much. I don't have any suppressors (formerly known as silencers) hence no experience. Beyond watching George Raft screwing one onto the end of his .38 Super 1911 or whatever.
I looked at the website where the Banish 45 suppressors are sold. So I'm taking it that the Nielsen Device is built into the suppressor. And that the Nielsen Device isn't necessarily made by another separate firm. So not all Nielsen Devices are made by the same company but many? And if this is so, maybe there are little differences here and there about that part, meaning, some may work better than others. And better with some guns than others. For whatever reason that may not be obvious.
But as to swapping out to a different spring. The spring tension has to be X value to allow the short recoil design to work, yes? And boosting the spring strength to prevent damage to itself may alter its functional relationship to the design of the pistol, maybe? Ideally a swap to a spring of the same dimensions but of hardier material might be a remedy, maybe difficult to get the perfect match.
OP has already run a pretty sporting course of repeated product failure, maybe time to move to a different brand. Or a different pistol if that turns out to be an issue. It's a shame that the tax stamp and permit are not transferable (as I understand it).
Surely the people who make the Banish 45 have a clue about this? Isn't it likely that they've heard from other consumers about the issue? It's difficult to conclude that OP is the only guy who's had this issue.
It's made to be mounted on a semi-auto pistol, who says there is a limit to rate of fire? If the manufacturer rates it for full auto, it should hold up to rapid semi-auto fire, stands to reason. They did say I cooked the spring because of mag dumps but …… it is rated for full auto lol.
I don't doubt that at all from that company. Shameful. They did say I cooked the spring because of mag dumps but …… it is rated for full auto lol.
