I was told it was brought back by the grandfather of the person I got it from!
I have the barrel and locking assembly in my hand and there is a 601 engraved in the top of the locking assembly and directly below that is what appears to look like a cursive n or r. Eagle on one side and the Eagle with 135 on the other. No markings internally on the slide itself. This pistol has not been refinished!the proof marks on the slide would always be there unless it was refinnished the import marks would be small on the frame inside the slide rail under the barrel company name and state of importer
