Found it on the interwebs, seems a fascinating piece! @MountainBear would be the goto for answers!
I believe it might have been an experimental set up for tankers or even Airborne troupes! IDK for sure!

Today's Photo Of The Day is provided by VEREX Tactical, a company located in Oberalm, Austria. While the Marlin 1895SBL depicted in the photo has a bunch of custom carvings, engravings and finishes, what really jumps out is the actual lever which is made of a bike chain.

Saw one of these a-10s on a plinth at the Air Force academy last month. It was active in the Iraq war.
Gatling gun is 4200 rounds per minute of 30mm.

The A-10. The plane that wouldn't die.
First there was the air show crash, back when the Air Force was still thinking about buying into it. That almost killed it right there.
Then years of non-use and how the thinking of that time was that the plane was obsolete, mainly based on its low top speed...Desert Storm convinced those minds otherwise.
Now it's heralded as a "flying tank" for its resiliency in battle and the fact that its the platform for one of the greatest rotary cannon's ever devised - The Gau-8.
