In 1894 the French Rene Galland developed a new 22 cartridge, the centerfire 5.5mm Velo-dog, and after that he developed a series of revolvers in this caliber. They were called the Velo-Dog Revolver.
I do not believe so as the original loading was slightly less powerful than a 22LR.Was this the advent of the 22 Win Mag?
