Royland Southgate Percussion rifle.
What makes this rifle unusual is that is it was handmade "Lock , Stock and Barrel " By Southgate in 1950.
Southgate was a rifle maker of muzzleloaders from 1949-through the early 1970s.
He made all the parts of his rifles...like the old gunsmiths of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Long before Navy Arms and Pedersoli....even before some of today's custom makers...Guys like Southgate and Hacker Martin were making guns the old way....:D

.38 caliber , cherry stock , 38 inch barrel , carving , patchbox and silver inlays.
Number 86...This rifle is still used by me today and has won a few rifle matches and gotten me dinner.
