These petitions are a waste of time.
Did you read the response the white house gave the states that were petitioning to leave the union? The white house pretty much said tough luck states and your only options are to send letters to your representatives and vote.

"Our founding fathers established the Constitution of the United States "in order to form a more perfect union" through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self-government. They enshrined in that document the right to change our national government through the power of the ballot -- a right that generations of Americans have fought to secure for all. But they did not provide a right to walk away from it."
I disagree with their response.

Something to make ya say Hmmmm?
How many times has Our government helped other citizens overthrow their own governments recently? To set up a democracy. Maybe our government should have told those citizens that sorry, your are stuck and just look at what lengths your own government is making to appease you guys over there? They have only the best intentions for you citizens. Cant you all just get along?

I don't want to see anyone killed. I would never advocate a gun free zone for anyone.

You know what I meant.....it had been a long day. After the misspelled word was corrected do you understand the sentence, or does the structure of the sentence or lack there of bother you too?
