I read an article on a motorcycle forum where the "people" from PETA went to a motorcycle club gathering in protest of bikers wearing leathers, lets just say it didn't turn out too well for them but it was hilarious to read.

That is a fact, if not more. HSUS DOES I would never givem them a dime. They are not really part of local HS, only in name and their CEO makes close to a 7 digit income.
If you ever give to any rescues, do so only to local shelters and rescuerers. Never to HSUS OR PETA !

Oddly you are paraphrasing a basic belief of PETA. One of their core beliefs is that slaughterhouse killing is more humane than hunting kills. This is one of the ways some of them justify eating meat.

Me too - and I dry rubbed a nice Tri-Tip roast this morning and let it set out all day (covered) and it is going to get BBQd tonight! I'll probably polish it off completely - it's just a small one - maybe 18-20 oz.
