Ok, I enjoyed "Emotional Attachments To Firearms". My question is do any of you have a beloved weapon with a pet name? Come on now, fess up! I have one! She is my carry Colt Officers Model .45, a professional tuned, polished stainless beauty and her name is "Baby Doll"! Am I the only silly SOB here?

I have my wife fetch my guns for me so it's easier for her to remember the names. I have 2 ARs that are two different calibers, to her they look the same.

I suspect 4dogs' "Kim" is the sibling to my "Mister K". Perhaps not coincidentally, it is also my reference to a certain "cowboy beverage", commonly sold as Kessler's.

My Marlin Model 62, .256 Winchester Magnum is called "The Jesus Gun". It was named by the guy I bought it from, because he said everytime he shot something with it, he'd say "JESUS!!". I do too.

My Shiloh Sharps Roughrider is of course "Old Reliable". (Because it is, and has it written right on it.)

My Winchester Model 67 Boy's rifle (I got when I was 6 years old) is "Junior". Junior still earns his keep around here.

My Siamese Mauser custom .45-70 is called "Magumba" (Those old enough to remember the Johnny Eagle series of authentic toy guns will know the reference to its looking like it should be in Africa.) Those that aren't old enough missed the coolest looking toys ever sold in America.

Don't feel bad, I name my guns too lol. If people can believe in "god" and appear normal to the rest, I think I am safe and not looked at like I have issues lol.

I sometimes refer to my Marlin 444SS as "The Thumper" but that's more of a nickname.

I have an old Stevens 12 gauge double barrel that I cut down to 18.25" when I was a teenager. To this day "he" is known as "Coach" to my friends. Best rabbit gun ever!

When I was in the USMC the drill instructors (all vietnam vets) made us give our rifles a feminine name. I named her "Stephanie" after a stripper I had a huge crush on. :p (Oh to be 19 again!) I bet with all the political correctness nowadays and the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" this isn't practiced anymore.

This habit has kinda followed me. So far the wife hasn't asked where I come up with all the names for OUR guns. Hope she doesn't see this thread! :paranoid:

The list is to long to post here. But I suppose that's a good thing.

A few decades ago, I had a .45 Colt Commander I called 'Mr. Sluggo', because when Mr. Hands and Mr. Sluggo get together.... "Ohhhhhh, nooooooo!"
