If this law was steam rolled through and signed, it would have to weather the various legal challenges prior to being implemented. Confiscation of weapons could and would only take place after the case was ruled on by the Supreme Court, which already has precedence cases striking down this infringement of the 2nd amendment.
I see this as a politician pandering to the extreme left in the hopes of gaining support for re-election. The proposal, while complete Bubblegum, would most likely not make it through the lower courts let alone the Supreme.

Exactly why the people of illinois should physically resist that tyranny. An infringement done by tyranny that lasts 3 years is the rest of the lives to many of The People's elderly 'American' parents & 'American' grandparents living under that same tyranny in illinois. Tyranny should not be allowed to happen without resistance for a single day.
