Belgium made "Cape Gun"...circa at the earliest the mid to late 1840's - to around 1900.
( Belgium proofs on the underside of the barrels , near the breech )
12 gauge smooth bore barrel with a .44 caliber rifled barrel.
Both barrels ( 30 inch ) , hooked breech , are clean with no pits , in good shape and the rifling is fast twist , set up for conicals.
The barrels are Damascus...but don't let that scare you , as I have shot and hunted with this gun.
One minor ding in the Shotgun barrel...but it is minor and the barrels are tight with no splits ...
The barrels , triggers ( rifle has a "set" trigger ) , trigger plate , butt plate , trigger guard , stock and sights are all original ...
The locks are modern replacements , made by Pedersoli...Modern nipples as well...
The stock has been cleaned and re-oiled , no major dents or cracks...
Ramrod was made by me ...
Load :
12 gauge...
65 grains of 2F , over powder card , cushion wad , shot , overshot card...
.44 rifle...
45 grains of 2F , greased .429 all lead bullet ( .44 Special / .44 Magnum works well ) ....
$900.00 O.B.O or Trade...
( Flexible on price / trade )
Trade items wanted :
Upper end Flintlock rifle...or Northwest Tradegun...
( No CVA , Lyman or Thompson Center , etc.. )
Colt 2nd generation 1851 Navy or Colt 2nd generation 1860 Army...
English made Parker Hale 2 Band Rifle...
( Not a newer Italian made one )
Colt 2nd Generation 1861 Rifled Musket...
**Or Perhaps**
1903 Springfield Rifle ( 03A3 as well )
Mauser Military or Sporter rifle or Carbine in 7mm
Pre-64 Winchester model 94 Rifle ( Not a carbine )
Remington ( or Uberti ) Rolling Block rifle or Carbine in .30-30 or 7mm
Uberti ( or Winchester , if one was crazy enough ) 1885 rifle in .30-30
