I have not shipped a rifle to the east coast in a long time. I am considering buying one of these cases to ship a 30-06 to a nephew that lives in Florida. He is planning to come out this fall and go elk hunting. Yes he will need to apply for an out of state tag. I am figuring that this case would meet airline specifications. I see that Bi-Mart has them in stock right now. The idea is to get the rifle back to him so he can learn and build a relationship with it before he needs to use it.
Thoughts? I plan to ship USPS.

Suggest you go to the FAA and see what their requirements are. Or perhaps easier, call one or two of the airlines that might transport the gun.
