I haven't been to a gun show in 10 years, and have zero desire to go back to any. Pay to park. Pay to get in. Crappy selection, prices no better (sometimes worse) than in the gun shops, and lots of people there hawking crap not even firearm or outdoor related. Nerts to that.
The only thing I ever regretted not getting at a gunshow was a Kahr T9 for $400 from Keiths table, when they were retailing for $600 normally. It was brand new, unfired, with fancy wood grips and steel sights. Sexy gun for a good price, wish I'd jumped on it. Other than that, I never saw a deal at a gun show. I also had walked around with a G3 clone for sale at one of the last shows I attended, without so much as a sniff. Meh. Old timers talking about stories of gunshows that kicked bubblegum, got great deals, found ammo for cheap, found accessories for cheap, and and had sexy women escorting them around the show all day (okay, so maybe not the last one) - never did experience any of that. I did laugh at the lack of real security at each show though. They mandated zip tying the actions of declared guns. Never asked about concealed firearms. No metal detectors, no "consent" searches (even "please raise your shirt" stuff) so I was able to carry at every show I attended with no hassle.
I'd much rather just spend an hour in a well stocked gunshop with people who know guns, without the beanie babies or bad popcorn.
