I've never bought a gun from a pawn shop. I have been in and checked prices before.
I've been wanting a Ruger 77/22 for years and found one at a pawn shop. The price they were asking was too close to a new one and I passed it up. Recently, however, I saw a Colt Lightweight Commander, in the box, for what I considered a very fair price. Had I been in the market for one, we would have been talking, and I'm sure I would have bought it.
As far as a "gun store" being able to tell you things like round count and past owner history, I believe that's a load of BS. I've purchased many guns used from gun shops and never has that kind of info been available. The only time you can be sure if that is with knowing (and trusting) the previous owner, or buying new.

I got a Firestar M45 and a Khar CW9. For 420.00 out the door.
The cw9 needed a rear sight adjustment...no charge.
It's a great BUG.M45 don't do lead very good but FMJ
All good......both Tac drivers if I do my part.

You have to remember. ...a 500.00 gun got pawned for maybe 200.00
So 300.00 cash is a good deal...for both.
But its all in the haggle and cash is king.
