Reading independent reviews of last year's so called Ryan budget, which most of right radio was pushing as something great, revealed that the man is a blowbag. That budget did the same sort of funny math that politicians love - spend more this and next year and we'll get the savings in the future.
It is very reminiscent of the way NFL player contracts are structured with the high earning years being at the end of the contract. Everyone knows that most of these will be renegotiated before those years. It is why players always get as much of a signing bonus as possible - it is the only money that is guaranteed.
In government and politics the same in true. Only what you get for the first year is true. Everything else is a smoke screen.
