I haven't tried this yet, but I am pretty sure the trick is in the type of ink you use. Check this Brownell link to "inlay Ink"

That's the stuff, it's like crayon but a little softer.
Rub in, wipe off, done.

Testor's paint works well too. You can find little brushes, basically a plastic stick with a small sponge on the end, with the paint at a hobby store. Just fill in the roll marks and use some Hoppes to clean anything outside the lines. If you google 'testor paint roll mark' you can find tutorials and examples.

I find using a good old fashion CRAYON works good, easy to clean off mistakes or colors u dont like and just seal it CAREFULLY with clear finger nail polish.
