No, he should not have done it. It was easy to hear he had been having one of those days where he was at the end of his rope. The Dispatcher said nothing in return and I am sure his supervisor caught up with him at some point to give him a refresher course is what to say and not say over an open channel.I'm sure he was frustrated but that's not professional behavior.
Does not mean I did not still think it was funny as all hell and I am sure I was not the only one laughing at the time.
Most of the public has zero clue what its like to be a street Cop for 12 hours a shift. Most have even less clue what its like for the people at the other end of the radio who have to field the 911 calls and the radio. Often they are "curt" on the phone and I just let it go. Often some I work with complain about it. When they do I tell them you have no idea what its like to do that job. VERY few can do it.
