You mean the same reasonable people who now want armed teachers and armed guards (at $50,000 a year) in every school? I'd argue that neither side is being particularly reasonable right now.

Anyways, Joe Biden is anything but an idiot. This is painful to listen to, but he's just being the smart career politician he is. He is presenting himself as pro-2A while pushing his agenda, and he's even bringing his wife into the conversation, thus appealing to women in the country. It doesn't matter if what he is saying makes much sense factually since he's trying to win the many millions of Americans who are indifferent or somewhat pro-guns, not the hardcore pro-gun folks.
