dang!!! hypothetically, is it ok to use a $20 1/2x28 to 5/8x24 adapter on supressor threaded for 5/8x24 instead of buying the $90 threaded 1/2x28 cap MADE for the supressor as long as say a cleaning rod sticks out the end of the supressor without contacting the baffles??
sure.. hypothetically.. but for my piece of mind.. I dont want to have to explain how I bought a 800$ suppressor and then used a 20$ thread adapter to kill it.. in the NFA world.. we are fully in the buy once cry once category..
My buddy did one shot of .308 through his .223. Fortunately nothing happened to it.
Subsequently I have color coded my suppressors with electrical tape.
red = 308
green = 223/5.56
I went the budget route and got 1 7.62 can and put qd muzzle devices on my 308, 300bo, and 5.56 rifles. I'm sure the 5.56 dedicated can would be much quieter...but lets hope the hearing protection act passes...lol
