I just got around to applying to Multnomah County last week. I put my app in the mail on Wednesday and by Saturday I got a response back in the mail with my appointment time; and the appointment was only 2 weeks out! Since I don't work in Oregon anymore, my only legitimate reason was my family and my in-laws that we visit regularly; good 'nough!

I live in Vancouver. I sent the paperwork into Multnomah Sheriff's Office and get my paperwork and appointment scheduled, only problem was the wait of 4 weeks. When I went in and had all my ducks in a row, entire appointment was like 20 minutes. I got my OR CHL in the mail in less than 4 weeks

For veterans, your DD-214 will cover the training requirement. the law states the 214 is good if it shows marksmanship training. Mine, after 20 years, didn't show any of my quals, but Multnomah County accepted it anyway.

That's interesting, I did not know that!
