I bought a rifle mid summer. I have a CHL. That was the only time I had to wait. Was 4500th in line. I have purchased since and was in/out within a few minutes. With nothing to lose next time I would ask to be taken out and resubmit. Possibly late in the day the people in the office want to go home or take a break.
