I heard back from them today. They did submit one.My lady with NRA said they are working on some statements for pamphlet,
Isn't it quaint how "our side" still expects rule of law?Heres what I fail to understand.
What happens if it passes yet it is obviously unfunded? Does it just sit and stagnate? Is a 'comittee' formed to start the process of figuring out funding and then try to piece it all together?
I don't understand how this process works, but if the rebuttal on the pamphlet shows its from the NRA many people in OR will vote YES just out of spite.I heard back from them today. They did submit one.
That is a concern of mine as well. The press paints the NRA as a mastermind villain because it is easier to build a villain to hate than actually addressing the issues behind crime and guns.I don't understand how this process works, but if the rebuttal on the pamphlet shows its from the NRA many people in OR will vote YES just out of spite.
It's like a rebuttal provided by Planned Parenthood in the pamphlet for permissive abortion legislation in Mississippi. Since Mississippi is such an anti-abortion state, Planned Parenthood is vilified and voters will vote accordingly regardless of the soundness of the counterpoint provided. That is a concern of mine as well. The press paints the NRA as a mastermind villain because it is easier to build a villain to hate than actually addressing the issues behind crime and guns.
I'm guessing it was nowhere near enough, yet the most signatures of any measure in history, at the same time. Was there ever a purported # of signatures this bill supposedly got to make it on the ballot?
According to their latest comms, "LEVO has more than 1600 volunteers statewide who collected 161,545 signatures to qualify Measure 114 for the November 8th ballot. Many states are watching our progress closely and creating initiatives based on our model." They needed 112,000 signatures to get on the ballot.I'm guessing it was nowhere near enough, yet the most signatures of any measure in history, at the same time.
McCarthy called out Commies of the PNW back in the 50s. There were a handful of established Commie cells and institutions flourishing up here. It has nothing to do with California. Commiefornia was Red in 1980. What happened? Cali got invaded by Leftists from all over the country and the World. Demographic changes lead to political change as well. Open borders anyone? Unchecked immigration of low IQ socialist leaning idiots who move here for gibs......One more strike against us: I don't know if where you live is similar, but where I live there are California plates EVERYWHERE. This means that come November, there'll be a new wave of Californians voting for the same policies that turned their state into the dumpster fire they're fleeing from.
Sorry to sound like a harbinger of doom here, it's just stuff I think about.
Our club posted up a full page in our most recent monthly newsletter.Gun club owners groups are starting to get involved but some need to be careful if they're non-profits. It's ironic that non-profits are the ones that started and funded the measure but conservative non-profits are the ones that need to be careful. "Law's for thee but not for me" is in full force and in the open.
I have yet to hear anyone ask specifically for money for print, internet, TV or radio ads.
What happens is there will be no firearms transactions because no one can comply with the law. Meanwhile, your LGS will go out of business because they won't be able to pay the rent selling holsters, slings and other accessories. The antis will get exactly what they want - No legal gun sales. By the time it is all figured out, there will be no one in the business of selling firearms anymore in this state. What happens if it passes yet it is obviously unfunded? Does it just sit and stagnate? Is a 'comittee' formed to start the process of figuring out funding and then try to piece it all together?
And in the meantime we have to abide by a law that we can't even follow because there is no system in place to carry out the requirements?
Exactly what needs to happenGo with the line that this law "disproportionately affects BIPOC people due to costs and requirements, so it's racist! Only wealthy, white people will have guns if this passes!"
Use THEIR tactics
And did you tell them? You can't depend on Facebook ads to show up to them.I was just at the Bi-Mart near my house to pick up a few items and swung by the firearms counter. It was swarmed with people waiting and I'll bet most of them have no idea about Measure 114 queuing up for passage in November.
